is for Insurance Carriers in SMB marketplace

What We Solve

The industry is struggling with the following core issues:

Complex and time consuming user experience in providing data

Drinking from the ever expanding Big Data fire hose

Disparate and non-integrated risk determination solutions

Inappropriate match of coverage with true risk characteristics

TERRENE Labs helps carriers offer the right coverage for the right risk at the right price in the right time.  As the only end-to-end solution in the market it does the following –

  • simplifies the Agent Experience,
  • uses decision science to manage multiple, disparate and growing Big Data sources,
  • risk assessment utilizing TERRENE Indexes and its underlying data sets
  • carrier uniqueness for risk determination and matching coverage offerings to the risk.

All this with short implementation timeframe – accurate, fast and powerful!

TERRENE Labs uses proprietary technology for

  • sourcing data from various sources using Dynamic Big Data Scoring©,
  • building TERRENE Indexes© to enable risk determination, and
  • making better risk coverage decisions, which are customized to each insurance carrier, with Configurable Algorithmic Risk Determination©

How It Works

TERRENE Labs solution consists of the following four components:

Data Entry:
Enter 4 elements of data to start the risk process

Dynamic Big Data Scoring(DBDS)©:
Utilizes machine learning to source data from Big Data sources using Dynamic Big Data Scoring© for data veracity and validation. It then automatically prefills the systems with necessary information and also provides 10X more data for better risk analysis

TERRENE Indexes(TI)©:
The core and additional data sourced in DBDS allows for building TI’s that enable the underwriters and analytical teams to see point-in-time risk and trend analysis

Configurable Algorithmic Risk Determination(CARD)©:
Insurance carriers can utilize the strategy CARD© to deliver meaningful analysis of the data. This is helpful when applying an appetite guide during a submission phase or laying out an analytical strategy with internal loss data

Analysts Review

“We’ve been saying for several years that the day of two question underwriting is fast approaching. The only question insurers really need to ask are: “Who are you?” and “Can I look up everything else about you?” All of the disruptive new entrants to the insurance market share the ability to leverage pre-existing data to streamline customer experience and risk assessment. Solutions like Terrene Labs that support big data access, verification, and analysis can help traditional insurers innovate the new business and underwriting process in the same way.”

Matthew Josefowicz, President/CEO of Novarica

According to SMA's latest research studies in both underwriting and big data, insurers continue to utilize advanced analytics in the commercial lines underwriting – all with the goal to transform the process and drive winning results. TERRENE Labs solution brings to market an innovation in advanced analytics with big data solution that not only simplifies the submission process with reduction of data entry but generates more data collection and improves the risk assessment analysis for better underwriting results. This is a creative and innovative solution and may not only disrupt the way we process commercial lines underwriting but could drive differentiation as well.”

Deb Smallwood, Founder and CEO of SMA

“There are multiple sources for traditional data elements and an explosion of new data sources. Carriers are looking for new ways to easily access multiple sources of data and rapidly sort through which sources are the most accurate and which data elements are the most useful to make better underwriting decisions and improve the customer experience.”

Karlyn T. Carnahan, Research Director, Celent
